Will you be extinct in 10 years?

by ShannonCherry on November 29th, 2007

Entrepreneur.com just listed its top ten businesses that are on their way out.

Some of the businesses on the list are obvious, like record stores. (Actually are there any record stores left? Will one of my favorite movies, Empire Records, just be a nostalgic blip for my kids to laugh at when they’re older?)

Others seemed silly. Piggybanks? Can we get real here, Entrepreneur.com?

And finally, some just seemed off the mark. They pointed to gay bars as one example of something that really is obsolete. But I have to disagree. Although the LGBT community, thankfully, has been getting more acceptance, people still always like a place to call their own. And I also think that niche marketing is going to be extremely important in the upcoming years. So already having a niche market is a good thing.

So tell me, what businesses do you think will be gone in 10 years?
