Where’s the best place to launch a business?
Location. Location. Location.
Fortune Small Business just announced it picks for the top 100 places to live and launch.
I noticed Albany, NY (where I live) isn’t on the list, but a couple of upstate NY cities made the cut.
It got me wondering:
1) would you move to one of the top places just to start your business?
2) Does location usually matter?
Let me know what you think.

No I wouldn’t move. An entrepreneur also has its physical environment goals. If one of the top cities does not fit, well, they’re not moving. Happiness is also necessary to lead a healthy balanced life, right?

This seems to be a hot topic lately; I just read a post about location at http://twentyset.com/because-where-you-live-matters/. Location definitely matters, for reasons both personal and practical. While I would not likely relocate because of one of the “hot city” lists, I did spend a lot of time weighing the benefits (good professional network, for example) and drawbacks (high cost of living) of the city I live in. One of my first posts was on this very topic: http://www.thestartupspouses.com/getting-started/where-to-start-a-business/
