Using Facebook to Network
I don’t know if you noticed, but the face of Facebook is changing.
No longer just for the college-student set, Facebook is transforming into a B2B (business to business) networking and marketing platform that attracts corporate executives and decision makers.
It’s been more than a year since Facebook allowed anyone to sign up, but it’s only been a few months since business really began to embrace it as something other than a potential media buy. And it’s replacing LinkedIn, which has been criticized for being too dry and corporate.
What’s that mean to a start up owner? Lots… in terms of branding, in terms of networking, and in terms of potential customers.
Within a week of joining (last week), I’ve already am collaborating with people I never thought possible. Check out my profile to see what I am up to.
Oh yeah… and if you do join, why not make me a friend?

Very true. I’ve been very active there in the past few month and I’m so glad they opened it up to everyone. One of my favorite aspects of Facebook is the groups and I have set up groups for local networking groups and I have joined Alumni groups for college and high school as well as setting one up for my own company. The thing I like about Facebook is I get to see a more well rounded aspect of people. Oh and I’ll be adding you as a friend.

Hi Shannon,
I work for a global company and the challenge to me within this environment - seems the same as for a start up - identifying real opportunity for effective collaboration vs collecting names for fun.
Regards,
Justin
