Perspective on Small Business Week by DailyBlender Blogger
Hello, dear readers! As a regular blogger on b5Media’s food industry site Daily Blender, I’m happy to have the opportunity to guest over here at fabulous Startup Spark this week! As a fellow entrepreneur, I like to tune in to Shannon’s column as much as I can.
I had to laugh in particularly at her post yesterday asking if we really care about National Small Business Week! Funny enough, I’ve been wondering the same thing - particularly after learning it’s nearly fifty years old!
This year is the first I’ve ever heard of it!
At my own small business blog at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, I’ve suggested that perhaps this week you make National Small Business Week about you! Try to look at this week as an opportune time to review your business.
Have you accomplished the goals you set for the first few quarters of 2008? Are you on the right path? Is your office running as smoothly as it could be?
Even more so, maybe it’s time to make this week a time for you to set new goals, make new connections, redefine your wants and needs. Take time to review some of Shannon’s wonderful startup tips - from Monday Media Marketing Minutes to Success Secrets. Do a little research on your competitors. What are other small businesses doing to build their business this year - and what can you learn from them to help build your business this year?
And even though the event is being held in New York City this week, the National Small Business Week website is offering webcasts for small business owners who are unable to attend the ‘festivities’. Take a look!
Make National Small Business Week work for you!
