Are you using family to help in your startup?
If you’re the spouse of a small business or startup owner, this should come as no surprise - you help with the business, but probably don’t get paid.
A recent Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index survey found that almost half of small
businesses who couldn’t afford to hire staff end up using family members to make up for the difference- and often it’s unpaid help.
According to the survey, 74 percent of small business owners who hire paid employees said it was difficult to find qualified employees — up from 65 percent in March 2005. The major barrier to finding and hiring qualified employees was the cost of providing benefits and insurance.
Hmmm… looks like I owe my husband a nice dinner out.
How about you? Do you rely on a family member to pinch hit?

It’s funny you ask that. I’m actually an intern for a few gentlemen who are very successful with their internet businesses.
One of the intern programs I belong to is at OnlineBusinessInternProgram.com and it is actually modeled after a system a very well known marketer set up.
As an intern I not only provide them with the help they need with their business but they give me hands on experience for building a long-term successful internet business of my own.
Just my two cents:-)
